Bachelorette--Indy!

My former roommate Katie is getting married! For her bachelorette party, we had originally chosen to go to Nashville, TN.  But everyone seems to be traveling from so many different places that we changed it and brought Nashville to Indianapolis! We got a suite and two attached rooms at the top of the Westin

We had dinner and Katie opened gifts in the suite, and then a party bus picked us up at 7:30 to head to Saddle Up Saloon on the north side.  This is a line dancing bar.  I knew two line dances from when I was a kid, but I was seriously impressed with the people who just knew all of the dances.  The DJ would call out a step and people shuffled onto the floor.  I like that line dancing is repetitive because I was able to be on the side and follow along and try to figure the dance out.  We did get a dance lesson and everyone got to join in--for free!

Bars in Indy

I had a conference downtown on a Friday.  Afterward, I was able to meet up with Cole for a drink.  Always trying to go somewhere new, we stopped in the Omni Severin Bar.  It has a lovely atmosphere.  There was some sort of banquet going on, so when I ordered a Collins Royale, the bartender let me know that it would be a few minutes due to ingredients being misplaced--but that doesn't cut it on a Friday evening, so I ordered a Rhum Tum Cobbler instead.  Great name.  It was VERY sweet and served in a Mason jar.  If you do not like cherries, do not order this drink--or at least that's how I was advised.  I enjoyed it enough, but I don't think I'll get it on a second trip.  Cole had a Sazerac.  I loved the smell of it, but I have never been one to savor flavors, so it would not be a good choice for me
