Feel the Music

Yesterday when I was sitting on the couch, my parents came walking around the corner singing "Happy Birthday" to me and holding two gifts.  As much as I always enjoy their harmony on the song, I was so confused because my birthday isn't for two weeks.  I even stated this to them on the chance that they forgot that it wasn't my birthday yet.  They had decided that since we would be gone on my birthday and the major gift was not something that would travel on the plane easily for them, that they would give it to me early.

Pretty awesome, right?  I took a guitar class in college and have played ever since.  Do not misunderstand--I'm not incredible with the guitar, but I have enjoyed playing for these past few years.  Then, in one of the recent How I Met Your Mother episodes, "the mother" (Cristin Milioti) sings Le Vie en Rose on the ukulele.  I just LOVED the song.  And her voice. I had been playing it on the guitar--I even FaceTime'd Cole to play it for him, ha!--and my mom and dad picked up a uke for me.  I am in love with it.  Of course, now there is a lot of pressure--mostly from myself--to learn all these new songs for the ukulele.  Click here for the song from HIMYM.

The following is a list of other songs that I am working on or plan to learn.  Maybe you'll see me in the park sometime this summer strumming away...

Here is probably the best song ever played on a ukulele.

Reminder: Only 13 days to spring break!
