Apple Christmas Ad

I tear up every time I see this advertisement. I originally saw it three years ago when I opened an internet browser at school and it loaded the Apple website and started playing the commercial. I love it every time. It makes me think of my students who often seem glued to their phones, but I know that they could do this sort of thing with the technology that they have, and some of them do create videos like this.

Christmas At the House

This is my FAVORITE holiday.  I have been "collecting" items for Christmas all year long. Putting it all away made me feel like I didn't have too much, so that's always good.  I didn't realize until making this post that I never took a picture of our tree--sad face.

The presents are actually empty; I just liked the bags

Spreading Holiday Cheer

I have really made a statement for the past two weeks by wearing ugly holiday sweaters each school day of December. It got to the point that the Deans of Students would come by my room to see the sweater of the day. I was happy to have inspired one of my students to join in the fun.  Most of my sweaters came from my grandmother, grandma, or mom! I also wore one for the Ugly Sweater Run.

Christmas Movie Marathon

Now that Thanksgiving is over--and we have had day-after-thanksgiving breakfast--it is officially Christmas season!

Time to get the Christmas movie marathon rolling.  The following are watched over and over and over again, but it's kind of like pumpkin beer--they only make it for a month of the year, so you might as well go overboard with it.

We will begin with the most obvious...

1. A Christmas Story

Always Ready for Christmas

Halloween tends to sneak up on me each year. But once it has come and gone, I am ready for the two feast-filled holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. As posted previously, my students and I have been writing one thing that we are thankful for each school day of November. This also connects with our IB Learner profile trait of the month: reflective. With two weeks down and one to go, we will have over 2,000 leaves and things to be thankful for.
